At 2pm on national Read Across America Day, March 2nd, CouldYou? is hosting events across the globe to raise awareness for literacy in Mozambique and show solidarity for more children’s books to be published that reflect their local culture. You can join them in NYC (the 53rd Street New York Public Library), San Diego, LA, South Africa and Mozambique. At these events they’ll be reading Mr. Rabbit and the Well, the first children’s book based off Mozambican folklore and is written in both the tribal and national language.
If you can’t make it in person, you can join in by recording a video of you reading Mr. Rabbit and the Well aloud and posting it online before March 2 and post it on social media, tagging CouldYou? International.
You can download a PDF of the book in English here.
